I use it for an indoor pool because in a 90 minute session, I was cold. But I have to put on a bikini bottom, because with the lining it has, it is not suitable for second skin

Is this shorty designed for swimming in open waters. At what water temperature does it resist the cold?

Yes, it can be used for open water swimming. The temperature depends on your body/metabolism and the time you are there. To me, as I am very cold, neither this nor others of 1.5 -such as the one from Zone3- are worth below about 22º
