Garmin created Garmin Swim 2, a smartwatch for water activities. Among the functions that you find in this device is the monitoring of the heart rate 24 hours during the 7 days of the week, including the average and maximum values.
This tracker model is very useful for swimming in the pool; Within this environment, it is able to record distance, rhythm, strokes and swimming efficiency. Also, it is very useful for swimming in open water, since it is efficient for quantifying indicators such as counting and frequency of the stroke and the length traveled.

I bought it because my previous watch had "died due to age". For now I use it in the swimming pool, during the season I will also use it in open water. Everything is OK, but for me, as an amateur long-distance swimmer, an alarm function every certain distance is important. This makes it easier to manage your distance if you want to swim 1, 2, 3 or more km in the pool at a time.

All right. It arrived within the established period and I have had little time to test it, although I can say that it correctly measured the meters swum in the pool. I have not seen that it counts the lengths, I do not know if that data is there. It is a bit complicated for me that I have not had any GARMIN watch the movement through menus and screens, probably for veteran users that is not a problem. For now I'm happy. Hopefully it will be like that in a couple of years.

I've already had this one for a year. In the open water they prove themself as a very reliable and accurate watches. In the pool they can't count correctly distances that contain different kind of exercises. They are best for pure freestyle and butterfly, breaststroke is also less accurate. The battery is enough for 5-7 days.

Designed especially for those who need a watch for swimming, the Garmin Swim 2 has become my best pool companion. The battery life of this device is good, and unless you do a lot of open water swimming, you'll probably reach almost 1 week on 1 single charge. And all that for a reasonable price, I recommend it.

Certainly reliable site. The product arrived on schedule. I practice swimming in open water and the GARMIN SWIM 2 was recommended to me by other athletes in my club. I used it for the first time two days ago. According to the report it would appear that I have traveled a distance of 6,317 meters in 1:11:28 ... the time is right but if the distance were true Paltrinieri should begin to tremble !. The real distance traveled, I guess, was about 3,000, maybe more. I was alone and I was unable to compare with others. I will make the comparison next time. Some swimming companions have told me that it is a problem that occurs at SWIM 2 at the first swim. I just have to test it a second time.

GPS is not used in the swimming pool. It is used for Open Water swimming. When it comes to swimming in the pool, enter the pool length in the watch menu. Based on this, the watch will count the distance. Settings: START > Pool Swim > Options > Pool Size.

It is not a diving watch, that is to say, you can take it down to about 5 meters with peace of mind (I have done it, I am a freediver)... But I don´t recommend it anymore, and not because water gets in, but because of the pressure it can receive...with 30at of pressure, if it´s not a specific diving watch, it would be a mess. Garmin says 5ATM or 50m: Splashes, rain or snow, spray, swimming, immersion in water, surface diving.

Hello, we often read, in watch sites and / or repair workshops, that the resistance at 5 atm would be fine just for a shower, and not even for swimming. But this Garmin Swim2, with water resistance to 5 atm, seems to me to be specially designed for swimming.
