Mako Torrent Ultimate Wetsuit

This suit is the result of 3 years of research and testing to create a product that offers incredible freedom of movement and unparalleled performance. We have added new exclusive materials, better balanced buoyancy and zones of extra elastic neoprene over certain joints which has allowed us to improve even more our award winning range of wetsuits.


Features:

- Arms, Neck and shoulders : cut from the -. supplest neoprene outer (1.5 mm Yamamoto b#44 SCS Nano) and stretchiest jersey inner in the world, the cut allows complete freedom of movement and reduces muscle fatigue to a minimum. We now use #44 cell neoprene from Yamamoto instead of #40 cell as we found it to be even more supple and yet harder wearing over time.
- Zip: invisible and reverse closing leading to better hydrodynamics and less water entry.
- Water wings Intelligent skin on the forearms: Allows for better mastery of your arm movement and an improved «feei» for thei water.
- Wrists : High-cut wrists make for extra-fasttransitions.
- Lower leg, Sides and knees : 3mm Yamamoto #39 SCS Nano. The ankle openings are biased cut high for lightning fast transitions.
- Body, thighs and back: 5mm Dome cell,5mm Yamamoto #39 and 2mm Yamamoto #39 panels associated to provide optimum stretch, buoyancy and positioning in the water. All panels treated with SCS nano to reduce surface drag.
- Jersey: Lycra inner jersey for greater comfort and speedy removal.
- Safety Tapes : over the stress zones of the arm and leg seam s.


Technology:

- Low cut collar : our collars are cut extra low to avoid chaffing and any possibility of feeling strangled.
- Safety Tapes : we have added thermo-glued tapes over certain seams to reinforce the zones which undergo most stress during use. These will help to increase the lifespan of your Mako wetsuit.
- Power Stretch: This highly elastic neoprene insert, that is positioned over the sternum and diaphragm, allows for liberated breathing as well as increased suppleness over the whole upper body.
- Balanced Buoyancy : the buoyancy has been placed in our wetsuits so as to facilitate your stroke by offering you the body position that is most suited to your swim technique. So in our range you will find wetsuits that have been designed to maintain you in a “Natural” position for those that prefer a neutral body placement (often good for those with a strong leg kick) and others that we have labelled “Extra support” for those that prefer to have a little extra hip and leg buoyancy (good for those with a weak/ lazy kick or for long-distance races.)
- Run Stretch : these two strips of highly stretch
- neoprene positioned over the hip flexors allow for greater run efficiency that will lead to a gain in time and energy during the transition.
- Dome Cell is an exclusive Mako technology and is composed of two main elements: a new material that is both lighter and more bouyant than neoprene, coupled with air cavities that allow even greater bouyancy. Used in strategically placed zones these Dome Cell panels help you gain an optimum position in the water combined with ideal targeted bouyancy (balanced bouyancy) and leading to exceptional performance.
- Yamamoto 44 is the supplest neoprene from the Yamamoto range, whilst also lasting longer than their #40 cell neoprene that we used previously. Yamamoto is the world’s premier maker of triathlon wetsuit neoprene and the benchmark in terms of quality.
- Yamamoto 39 is the lightest neoprene in the Yamamoto range offering the best compromise between buoyancy and elasticity. It is also much more resistant to tearing than the #40.
- PhysioForm Technology : The perfect balance between liberty of movement and sup technology to ajq biomechanically, reduce energy waste and optimise comfort. For this we choose the materials, fabrics and neoprenes we use in our products with the upmost care. We are solely guided by our quest for perfection. The concept of Physioform technology was created so that our products feel like a second skin.
- Super-stretch Jersey : this jersey inner allows for unparalleled liberty of shoulder movement as it has been woven to stretch in all directions.
- MAX movement Shoulders : the cut and materials have been chosen to offer complete freedom of movement to the shoulders. From our very first patterns in 2008 we utilised a panel under the arms which was mounted to be “at rest” with a position of the arms above the head. This means that you never have to stretch the rubber as you reach to catch the water in front, thus not expending extra effort. The neoprene works for and not against you!
- invisiZip : our invisible zip system allows our suits to have great hydrodynamics and also reduces water entry, keeping you warmer.
- Reverse closing zip : this feature allows for extra fast opening and protects you against accidental (or non accidental!) de-zipping when swimming in a group.
- Soft Touch Jersey : lycra jersey that increases the comfort of our suits and allows for lightening quick transitions (as well as making them easier to get on!)
- SCS Nano : micro-spheres held into this surface layer significantly reduce drag and aid hydrodynamics making this the fastest neoprene surface on earth.
- SCS : this is a surface layer that both protects the neoprene and reduces drag through water.
- SCS Metal coating: the metal reflects body heat back inwards in the water to help retain an ideal body temperature for longer and colder swims during Swimrun races and training.
